I'm Back!

Good Morning Pie Lovers!

Hi everyone. It's Natalie again. Yes, I'm back, did you miss me? Well I missed writing this blog everyday. But frankly, it was sort of impossible to write it with all of my other activities and school. I just recently graduated 8th Grade from The Waldorf School of Mendocino County.Words cannot described how thankful I am to have had this opportunity to attend that school. I have learned so much there, and I have grown so much from the beginning of the year. At the start of the year I could barely do Jr. high math and simple art work. But I am very proud of how hard I worked this year, because it truly has been worth every hour I spent stressing on things. And let me tell you, 8th Grade at Waldorf wasn't the easiest year. There were so many times that I struggled with big projects but my teacher always helped me with everything and encouraged me never to give up. For the big field trip of the year, we went to Utah! Moab, Utah, where all the popular National Parks are. Basically, we went camping, outside for 9 days. We had tour guides, and the guides made us food, we went to Arches National Park, and Canyonlands National Park. It was the trip of a lifetime. We hiked everyday and the sights we saw were absolutely breath taking. I think it is the kind of place that you have to go, and see for yourself, pictures do not give this place justice. I am going to miss each and every person I met at the school this year, and if any of you are reading...I love all of you and I am really sad I left!

So many new and exciting things have happened in this year. Disappointments to wonderful blessings. We are all thankful for every good and bad thing that has happened this year.

Now onto the main attraction PIE:

Last Tuesday, Taste of Mendocino was held at the famous Presidio in San Francisco. The venue was absolutely gorgeous, and Kemmy's Pies met many new fans at this event. Unfortunately, towards the end, Jill and Brenda had a little too much to drink. Maybe little is an understatement. After all, it was a wine and beer event.  We found many new types of wines, for options to be in our pies, and I can't wait to start experimenting!

If any of you haven't read the latest post on our blog, it is introducing the newest the newest addition to our menu, "Lemonade. " A combination of eggs, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and of course our classic ingredient; sugar. Simple ingredients are always what gives you the wonderful trusted knowledge to know that it will taste good, actually not just good, AMAZING. I mean when have any of our pies tasted gross? Well I'm sure that has happened with mistakes in the baking area, but not in the ingredients area. Hope you all go over to your local store and pick one up! You'll love it!
So any fans reading from out of states? Well if you are, its your lucky day! We have mail order now! The pies still turn out beautiful, no matter what state you are from. So if you are wondering if our pies are good or not, visit our website, for choices on flavors and prices at http://www.kemmyspies.com/.

Still going on with the main pattern:

Pie of the month: Lemonade

Movie of the month: Now You See Me

Song of the month: Radioactive by Imagine Dragons

Looking for summer recipes? Suggested from Brenda:
Your favorite choice and brand of Vanilla ice cream, topped with the tasteful Frey Vineyards Late Harvest Zen.
Even though I am not yet old enough to try it, I am going to trust Brenda's instinct and say that it is probably delicious!!

"May all your crusts be round! "

xoxo Natalie
